Set in the beautiful and peaceful Esk Valley and lying in the heart of The North York Moors is the lovely little village of Danby. This settlement boasts two pubs – both of which serve food – a bakery and a tea room. Also close by is the excellent National Park Visitor Centre at Danby Lodge – a wonderful, historic building which provides exhibitions, nature trails and tea rooms, all set in 13 acres of riverside pasture. Danby also hosts the ruins of a 14th Century castle as well as the only remaining working water mill on the River Esk. Train enthusiasts will also enjoy the scenic Esk Valley Railway line, which runs through the village on its way to the seaside resort of Whitby. The area is full of excellent towns to visit including York, Hutton-le-hole and Lastingham, as well as the villages of Staithes, Saltburn and Robin Hood's Bay.

Washing machine and tumble dryer in outside utility room (shared with owner). All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Highchair on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Bike storage. Shared use of owner’s large, well established lawned garden with garden furniture and BBQ. One well behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2 miles, pub 3 mins walk.

    The Property

    Danby 6 miles.A lovely, light and airy, detached log cabin situated in the grounds of the owner’s home on the edge of Liverton village. Surrounded by open countryside and only three miles from the coast, this tastefully furnished property is warm and welcoming, providing comfortable accommodation and making the perfect place to relax and unwind. A particular feature is the light and spacious open plan living area, with large verandah overlooking the well-established lawned garden - ideal for all the family! Close to beaches and excellent walking, Thornlea Log Cabin is perfect for exploring quaint fishing villages such as Staithes and Runswick Bay or visiting the historic famous town of Whitby. Altogether a great base for a varied and relaxing holiday!

    All ground floor with ramp access. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin (both with views over open countryside). Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Attractive open plan living area with modern fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with sofabed, electric living flame stove and access to verandah, overlooking garden. Outside utility room.
