The local Area around Porth Veor
A famously mild climate, gorgeous beaches, picturesque villages and top attractions - enjoy them all when you stay in Cornwall. It’s all about the sea in the far South West.Ranging from the wide sweep of Whitsand Bay to tiny hidden coves reached by winding tracks, the beaches of South Cornwall are as perfect for lazy summer days as for invigorating winter walking. And there’s a great range of water sports on offer too. Venture inland and you’ll find an array of enticing attractions in Cornwall. The Eden Project, where giant transparent domes recreate different climate conditions, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan promise fascinating days out, and there’s plenty of thrills at Flambards and Dobwalls theme parks. Sea angling trips and boat rides from charming fishing villages like St Mawes, Mevagissey, Looe and Polperro attract many visitors staying in Cornwall, and Fowey is a firm favourite with the sailing community. The cathedral city of Truro and historic Penzance are both well worth a visit. |

The Porth Veor apartments were absolutely immaculate and superb - the house bathroom was even better than our own! A very large lounge/diner/kitchen - we didn't want to leave as they were extremely well appointed. Unlike a lot of places even if it had rained all day, we would have have been quite happy to have stayed in the villa as it felt just like home. We went to Menorca 3 weeks later and stayed in an apartment and we could not help comparing that one with the Porth Veor - in fact they were chalk and cheese. The one in Menorca was okay but we had no desire to linger longer than necessary, which was in contrast to Porth Veor where we would have been quite happy to have stayed there long term as it was pure luxury - we also had our own allocated parking space. The swimming pool was right outside the door and there were even tables and chairs to relax in outside the villa. We ate dinner in the hotels first class restaurant 'Beaucliffes' right on our doorstep, and as we were staying in one of their apartments on site we were given a discount. The meals were superb and we had a most amazing view from the restaurant. We shopped around for a good price for this holiday and Hoseasons had the best deal and we will certainly book with them again. We are quite hard to please but have to say we struck gold with these apartments at Porth Veor and can't wait to return, we will certainly recommend them to our friends - thanks! |

If you want a small, luxury complex complete with outdoor pool and close to the beach, then this is the one for you. We love it and have been for two holidays there and will no doubt return again. The villas are lovely and are next to the hotel so you can use their bar and restaurant. The setting is beautiful and it is wonderful to sit in the hotel's conservatory at night looking across at the beach (drink in hand!) |
